  1. The video of the “doctor” that Irish posted earlier this week, talking about stopping people from travelling and all the other insanity, is the most blatant “this is what we will do” to date. And they will deserve the results of their actions.

  2. I wonder why you have the Trump-hating, box wine swilling, cat lady, Karen-liberal “just an earthbound misfit” on your blog roll. She clearly hates everyone who enjoys your blog, as I do her and hers.
    That is all.

      • I get that. I just hate that she probably gets most of her traffic from curious people here. They love boycotts so much then why not beat them at their own game.

    • Misfit? I call her “cow cnut”. She’s STILL shrieking about Trump. These shitty liberal women are going to bring the roof down on us if we don’t do something about them soon.

      • *When* the day comes, I only ask that you DO NOT rescue them.
        No GD ‘white knights’.

They demanded society be torn down. So be it. Let the forest burn. All of it.
No one outside of your circle gets rescued.

    • Throwback to my days of being a flaming liberal. It’s also good to keep an eye on ones adversaries.
I haven’y visited in years but I do see her post titles on the blog reader on my old blog occasionally. You did a good job of describing her..

  4. This is what happens when people don’t learn from history. They keep this “you didn’t get the shot so you can’t do anything” attitude and they will be the first to scream loudly when the silent good people who just want to be left alone to live a free life suddenly and with great skill show why you don’t piss off the quiet old guys who aren’t giving you a look of disdain but are really looking at you and wondering “humin this body part”m wonder just how loud they will cry when I hit them

  5. For the most part have completely tuned out of the whole china flu kerfuffle. What is decreed on the west side of the state or nationally has absolutely no impact on us. Masks only get worn once we’ve been asked to leave and then only to the door, by now we know where our business is appreciated and tend to patronize those businesses.

Spring is slowly displacing late winter and food growing is commencing. Seeds have been placed in the germination trays for at least the last three weeks with many already being up potted. The ground is workable, so long unused muscles are getting a workout. The garden effort will be cut just about in half this year, leaving time for some other projects, like fishing and camping. Started finishing a beef that will be processed in about ten weeks. Sure am happy with the cold room we built last year.

There is a concerted effort to lay in more supplies of any necessity around the big five – breathable air, potable water, food, shelter and defense. Obviously each of these five groups have many sub categories. Still maintaining zero debt and just paid our property taxes through next year just to get it out of the way. Next on the horizon is some vehicle repairs and replacing one rig for something better suited for SWMBO now that the kids are for the most part grown and gone.

Have been working hard on extending the effective shooting range of the kids that are shooters. They are now shooting into one inch groups at 300 yards and starting next week we’ll move them to the 400 yard range. Lots of effort went into tuning all three aspects, the firearm, the ammo, and the shooter but obviously they’re understanding what they are doing and it is all coming together.

The re-barrel on my old 03A3 has been a smashing success. Did a scope tracking test at 300 yards. With the scope zeroed for 200, shot twice, rapid fire, cranked the elevation up 8 clicks, two shots rapid fire, down, what I thought was 8 clicks but turned out to only be 7 clicks, two shots rapid fire, then one more click down and deliberately pulled to the left so I wouldn’t clutter up the previous effort and elevation was right back where I started. First two shot group was .700 inch, second two shot group, 6.8 inches higher, was .605 inch and the third two shot group, 1.1 inch above the first group was .257 inch. As stated the seventh shot was back to the original elevation of the first two shots with one more click of the turret.

From this test it appears the scope tracks well and more testing will be conducted out to 800 yards just to see what it will do.

I know some are going to express that two shot groups don’t tell you anything about your gun, your ammo and yourself. First, this particular rifle is a hunting rig, if the first or second shot doesn’t get the job done you’ve fucked up. Second, those seven shots were fired in under 90 seconds, including the time to adjust the scope. Total windage of the three groups from the vertical center line was .9 inches, over a 7 inch elevation difference. Three two shot groups in rapid succession with two major scope adjustments and maintaining .7 inch or under group size tells me the gun and ammo is doing its job. Just to confirm the gun and ammo went out the next day in a measured 10mph wind from 9:00 and shot a two shot group of .65 inch at 300 yards. Same elevation just to the right 4.2 inches.

Subsequent shooting sessions have demonstrated the rifle and two primary loads, a Sierra 200gr Gameking and Sierra 165gr Gameking will consistently shoot under an inch at 300 yards. When the groups open up, so far a maximum of 1MOA (three inches) it’s always due to my poor performance or my eyes, which seem to be slowly deteriorating. Also I’m happy to note the barrel seems to be heat tolerant with no appreciable POI change whether cold or hot and I’ve tested it with up to a 30 shot string in rapid succession.

Well enough about the shooting, it’s sounding like bragging, well on my kids it is, for me it’s knowing my work re-barreling the rifle was sound, the firearm is up to its intended task and that its performance is consistent and repeatable.

Well time to get on some of the projects and put away the internet for the day.

The best to everybody, stay healthy and safe. See you on the other side.
