It’s home now.
She needs a bath in the worst way.
But it’s in the garage and sitting on it’s table.
My buddy was waiting for me to call, already had the engine hoist loaded up and was here in fifteen minutes.
I parked my truck out on the street, dropped the tailgate and looped a long strap around it. He backed up, I flipped the other end of the strap around his hitch ball and he slowly pulled forward and dragged the thing out on to the tailgate.
Then we unloaded the hoist, he made some improvements to my sling rigging, we hooked it up and lifted it out.
Luck smiled on me again, The Kid showed up just as we set it on the legs of the hoist and the three of us pushed it all up the driveway and into the garage.
I had moved a bunch of crap and cleaned off the top of the table while I was waiting for my buddy to get here so at that point we just picked it up, centered the table under it, stuck a couple of the bolts up from the bottom to line it up and set it down. Then it was the reverse of getting the straps under it in the first place. Pry the nose up with a bar, slide them out to the end, get another bite and pull them out.
It’s HOME now.
My sincere thanks for all the well wishes and offers to help with things.
Since my sleep schedule is now 180 out from normal folks, I was up at 4 this morning when my check got deposited and I went straight to Ebay to get a few things coming.
First things first,
A ER 32 /MT3 collet chuck with M12 threads in the back.
I already have the ER32 collets.
Then a couple more collet holders to put in the vise.
I have a couple of End Mills around here somewhere and it’s going to be a couple of weeks before that stuff gets here but there is already some kind of holder in the quill right now.
It’s going to take me a couple weeks of just cleaning and lubricating things before I can use it anyway. Heck I don’t even know if the motor works yet. I’m going to have to go check that here in a bit.
I’m betting it does.
This thing has had some use for sure but I don’t see any signs of A-BUSE so I am really hopeful this will be a straight up cleaning job with a thorough evaluation after that.
I am still wound up pretty tight about actually having a real machine and I have some things to do real quick so I am going to sign off for now.
