I remember reading one of Michael Pailin’s travel diaries where while in Africa he traveled ‘roof class’.
Having a conversation with a local fellow roof rider he commented that this was a new experience for him, surprised, local asked if the English didn’t travel on train roofs and why not, Pailin replied, ” I then explained about low bridges and tunnels to him, watching his eyes widen in surprise and understanding, we then looked up at the open sky above us and agreed maybe it would not work in England.”
I had the joy of being in downtown Kansas City one day when a woman through the door of her Cadillac wide open in front of an oncoming public bus that proceeded to take it off and continue driving away at 30 miles an hour. Bus driver never looked back.
That ain’t gonna buff out!

I would have liked to have been there when he tried to explain that one to his wife!

Kinda reminds me of when the dumbass American tourists over in Europe stick their arms out the train windows…
