I once had an idea for a project. It was an 8 cell Mag light. Take a 5 or 6 cell,
and have a machinist make a threaded bushing and cut and thread the barrel
of another Mag light. A 12-volt quartz halogen bulb would melt the Mexichrome
plastic reflector. No problem, a ceramic reflector was available. Then I did a
little math and discovered the battery life based on the bulb current would
would last about ten minutes! The project was shelved.
When surefire flashlights were the new hotness back in the day, I used to get their catalogs and trade magazines. I recall they had a model that they claimed could be used to signal satellites in orbit. Not sure on the application, but it would be hell on rioters night vision.
I’m thinking of getting one. Or two. Then, when a Pantyfag gets in my face, they get 3+ million lumens in the face. After they are dazzled, I nail ’em with Pom.
Ryobi makes a pretty badass light (P717) that I’ve grown fond of. The high beam is rated at 2500 lumens w/ a 700 yard range. It takes the same batteries as my hand tools, so I always have one charged. It also has a cigarette lighter adapter.
That’s a quick way to draw fire.

Win-win. Carry LOTS of extra batteries!

Why would you use a Pom, when a Chihuahua would be more effective in close quarters?
