  1. We got a ton or more of dried corn from the experiment station near where I lived. Filled up half the granary with it. Drove out in the field, stripped it off the standing stalks. Dad had me do what those guys were doing, barehanded at first then finally with a pair of gloves. I had a brother and 2 sisters, but no one else helped. 5 gallons a day by hand for the hogs. Until it was gone….

    I would’ve been happy to sell my little brother for that little unit!! Man…

  2. Wonder what they used to strip the seed corn off with. Stubby chicken plucker fingers inside a piece of PVC pipe with ports in it to release the loose corn ?
    Like to make one for myself. Beats doing it by hand.
